It was a sideline cheer team and we cheered at SYA football games on Saturday afternoons. I clearly remember my first day of practice. I was extremely nervous because I had to leave my mom and I didn't really know anyone on the team. At the end of the season I now realized that I had grown and matured in many aspects. I became more independent because I had to leave my mom and make friends on my own, I became a team player and learned that the only way to achieve a certain goal is to work together. SYA cheering is still a part of my life to this day. This is my third year coaching a secondary team and the SYA extreme competition team.
