We have all been told once or twice in our lives to stop playing with our food; here is our only free chance! When milk, which contains many different molecules such as fats, sugars, proteins, minerals and vitamins, is combined with detergent or any other form of liquid soap, it tends to give a particularly dramatic reaction. In the experiment you will need whole or 2% milk, food coloring without specific color, dish soap, cotton swabs and a plate. The food coloring is just to add color and to show the actual reaction; otherwise it would not be visible to the naked eye. A simple step-by-step process will have you doing a swirling milk color wheel every time. The idea for this experiment came to me while I was searching for interesting chemical reactions on YouTube. I came across a few other things that looked pretty interesting, but this one in particular caught my attention. I had never seen anything like it before and wanted to try it for myself first.
