The characters in The Fault in Our Stars manage to find joy in the terrible world they have lived in and, even in the most devastating scenes, bring happiness and love to the film. The audience is able to appreciate and understand how much of a blessing life is and know that when one goes to sleep at night, they will wake up the next morning healthy and well. If people who cannot afford the luxury of security and sustenance can maintain hope in the world, people who are fortunate enough to have this luxury should not take advantage of it. Live life and enjoy every special moment. Appreciate the little things, because one day they will no longer be there and when you leave the world, it is much better to leave happy for the time spent on earth rather than sad for what has been done.
