The development of technology is growing rapidly, as there are various high tech products coming out constantly. Technology plays an essential and indispensable role in our daily lives, and it is also the way we interact with others. The technology seems to be really convenient for us. We can gain a lot of information from it, we can have fun and communicate with others in an immediate and simple way. However, technology brings a big problem in our real life, as the relationship between people is negatively affected due to the development of technology. The root cause of this problem is that the development of technology has changed people's lifestyle. We overuse and overly depend on digital devices. According to Google research, the mobile Internet usage rate in Hong Kong is the highest in Asia Pacific. In Hong Kong, the fact is that 96% of smartphone users use their phone daily (Google research, 2013). It is not surprising, for example, that people not only wait for the bus at the stop, but also use their smartphones. Smartphone addiction is now increasingly serious and generates many personal, family and social problems. Nowadays we not only eat during dinner, but at the same time we scroll through our smartphone screen. Furthermore, we are not just chatting with our friends in the gathering, but all of us bow our heads and use our smartphones. Those family situations simply imply that we are all “alone together,” meaning that people are together despite not being together (Turkle, 2011).
