In Aristotle's view abortion would be considered morally wrong because he believes that everyone has a person and that we are designed for a purpose. Virtue ethics “can evaluate the morality of behavior by examining the moral character that such behavior produces” (Velasquez 488). According to Smith, abortion is wrong because it promotes a moral character “characterized by negligence, irresponsibility, dishonesty, and lack of principle” (Velasquez 488). This theory emphasizes that everyone should take responsibility for their actions and that our choices define our character. I tend to agree with this, we are all responsible for our actions and those actions tend to have consequences that tend to affect our personality. This point of view reminds me of the point of view of adultery that covers in this chapter someone who commits adultery also says a lot about his character because it shows that we cannot trust this person because he manages to keep his word or because he seeks pleasure without truly considering the consequences and who they may affect. To conclude about all the theories, they all provided different points of view to see the ethics and principles. But they all share a common theme: always think about the consequences or outcomes of why or not to decide on an abortion. I personally believe that abortion is an important issue that needs to be discussed because we all see life differently, in my opinion life begins when you are still a fetus and life has value. I also wonder how abortion could come to mothers' minds but there are many reasons that contribute to this so in my opinion no one has the right to judge those who have decided to have an abortion
