Ever since I started school my parents always told me when I brought home the report card with the threes that it was never good enough and that they wanted to see the fours and fives, even if my school didn't it gave more than a four. I remember one day I came home from second grade with an award for student achievement and my grandparents were very happy and proud. Afterwards, I felt better and smarter until later when I went to show it to my dad, he said "...that's not good enough that you should have gotten the student of the month award." It made me really depressed because instead of thinking he was pushing me to get better, he actually thought I wasn't smart. I didn't realize he was saying this so he could push me to get the student of the month award. The next month, after trying to receive the award by doing all my homework, paying more attention in class, and participating more often, I received the award and achieved my goal of making my family proud. I've realized that the more I do to further my education the further I go to the next one
