Personal Learning Reflection PaperOne of the main courses this semester was to learn about various organizational behaviors conducted in a real business environment. By learning this course, we could better understand our future colleagues and ourselves. Throughout the semester, Ashley Hughes gave us an interesting lecture on different topics related to organizational behavior each week. Along with the weekly lessons we also had a group presentation which gave us the opportunity to apply the lessons and techniques learned in our professional and personal lives. Throughout this semester, Organizational Behavior has highlighted numerous topics, which have focused on investigating the impact that individuals, groups and structures have on behavior within an organization and how their behavior influences the performance of organizations with the aim of applying this technique to improve the working effectiveness of an individual or an organization (Jontymagicman, 2012). In this reflection paper, I will discuss the essential areas of organizational behavior: the influence of motivation, change management and individual learning in an organization. Motivation Motivation, as defined in class, is the energy and effort a person is willing to devote to a task. In most organizations, motivation is one of the most problematic issues. Motivation is about intensity, direction, and persistence in achieving a goal. We learned about some important motivation theories during the course, and many motivation theories are used in real business. Each theory seems to have different underlying values. But they have all been analyzed for a reason, recognizing what motivates and increases employee performance. Ident... middle of paper... organizational-behavior-and-its-definition.
