In “Art is a Waste of Time” it is said that “the impact of art grows by reaching a wider audience” (Southan, 439). So, for example, the more people see an image of a police officer beating a black man, the greater the impact it will have and the more people will empathize and want to do something to make a change, therefore bringing awareness to the issue . Through art we discover many issues happening in the world and without it we would just be a chaotic world full of unaware people. Art can also bring awareness towards different cultures because often people are ignorant or disrespectful towards people of different cultures because they don't know anything about them. If people are exposed to different cultures through environments such as school or the workplace, people will be more aware. So everyone will be respectful of each other when it comes to their culture, beliefs and values. I think the world would benefit from being culturally aware because it would bring respect which would bring some peace to the world
