Martin Luther King Jr.'s strategies were successful in achieving the goals of "prohibition of discrimination in the workplace and housing, equal rights, protection from violence, safety at work, a job and a salary to support oneself were unheard of demands at that time” (Johnson). Well, Martin Luther King Jr.'s goals were not set due to his assassination in 1963 and JFK's assassination stopped the process of achieving the goals/rights that many minorities wanted to have. After the events that happened in America, everything went back to the "normal" it was before, where segregation still existed. Now King Jr. did not want to show any aggression and any violence that would cause officers to arrest civil rights protesters. King wanted all races to get along, to be one race with no differences that created labels for each other. The civil rights movement was to demonstrate that many minorities are people and should be treated with the same rights as white Americans. Part of the civil rights movement had two particular actions that complete the meaning for which it was created and they are civil disobedience and peaceful confrontation. Civil disobedience means that a group of citizens refuse to obey any immoral and discriminatory law and is a nonviolent resistance that many believe is the right thing to do to show people that they want a peaceful agreement with the government. One of the great examples is Rosa Parks of how she refused to give up her seat for a white American. This demonstrated how he could have so much encouragement and courage to not obey the law at that time: giving up his seat for the white people was arrested, but this action was encouraged......middle of paper... ...no aggression was committed by anyone, so the movement would also have been a failure. The many great lucky moments that exist that both Bull Connor and television created one of the most historic events in America which is getting civil rights for all minorities and segregation becoming non-existent. Television was one of the most important keys that saved and achieved what all minorities wanted, the change of heart of white people. Many Americans joined the movement and support the minorities, now that Americans started joining the movement that's when the officers stopped the immoral attacks they were committing against the minorities and decided to grant civil rights. Many Americans believed that whites were superior to minorities and, caring about their “race,” did not want to commit any immoral actions..
