Stress is a fact of life; I experience many levels of stress every day. According to “The Stress in America” survey, 22% of all Americans report extreme stress at 8.9 or 10 on a 10-point scale where 1 is little or no stress and 10 is a lot of stress (APA, 2011) . Stress can be defined as “the general state of the body, mind, and emotions when an environmental stressor has triggered the stress response (Teague, Mackenzie, Rosenthal, 2011). “Stressors are events or anything that causes stress.
