Plato states that “when he approaches the light his eyes will be dazzled and he will not be able to see anything of what we today call reality”. (122). Plato is basically saying how people would feel when they left the cave for the first time and came into contact with light and reality. I have two opinions about Plato's claim that we can get out of the cave. On the one hand, I agree that if we get out of the cave it will be difficult and confusing at first. We tend to live in a dark cave full of false beliefs and delusions to make our difficult lives more bearable. Bacon states that "every man has a cave or lair of his own, which refracts and discolors the light of nature." (131). Bacon's point is that every person has a cave full of false beliefs. He thinks that each cave represents how each person wants to live their life with disappointments. Bacon's cave theory is extremely useful because it loses its hair
