Regardless of differences, the gift of innocence is given to all children. From birth, children have no knowledge of evil and are therefore free from being responsible for their own actions. However, as this child progresses through life, he or she is exposed to violence, sexual behavior, and other evils in the world, losing his or her innocence in the process.
