Happiness is something inside each of us that comes out as we go about our daily activities and notice the positive things we have in life. In a certain sense, sooner or later we all become happy. For some of us, little things make a difference and we are easily satisfied. Others, it takes much greater things to bring out the joy of life. Some researchers seem to think that we can do certain activities daily to bring more happiness and an overall sense of well-being. Shawn Achor seems to think that the outside world has a huge effect on our daily happiness (“The Happy Secret to Better Work”). He believes we can do daily exercises to remind ourselves and our brains to focus on the good in life and not so much on the negative (Achor “The Happy Secret to Better Work”). He talks about how over the years we have often made the mistake of thinking that to be happy and feel good about ourselves we must be successful in life (Achor “The Happy Secret to Better Work”). We will never be happy trying to succeed because the bar will always be higher (Achor “The Happy Secret to Better Work”). As you can see, becoming happy is not a simple process when you think about it. Most people seem to think that they can bring happiness to themselves if they accomplish what is in front of them. You can try anything you want in the hope that materialistic things and success will make you happy one day. Until you realize and understand that this will not be the case, you will be completely blind to true happiness. Be grateful for what you have, focus on the good and positive aspects of your life, and do things that will help bring happiness and a sense of well-being into your life. That's where you will find true happiness.
