Topic > Similarities between Gilgamesh and Enkidu - 1371
After the two first meet, Enkidu first says that he doesn't like the idea of hunting Humbaba, but is then convinced by Gilgamesh when he asks, "Why, my friend ?" , do you sound like a weakling?” (II, 232, p. 19). Enkidu chooses to take Gilgamesh's bait and does not defend his values. He strays even further from his values when he and Gilgamesh have captured Humbaba and Enkidu expresses, "Smite him again, slay his servant with him!" (V, 18, page 45). Enkidu has made a complete revolution from his original ways and is advocating the death of another wild creature. Although Enkidu gained freedom through his companionship with Gilgamesh, it hurt his good and true values
