One way to update laws to today's standards is to apply an "intervention scale". According to Krebs and the World Health Organization, these “tools allow public health measures to be classified according to their coerciveness or intrusiveness” (2008). The higher up the scale the items are, the more scientific and justification is required for implementation. Furthermore, it is imperative that all individuals are involved throughout the public health process and are held accountable for not taking part in the entire process or for not providing for a common good fulfilled by the public. Overall, we must take all necessary measures to ensure that a balance exists and that public health is part of our daily lives. As Beauchamp states “we must never overlook the chaos of preventable disease and disability in our society simply by celebrating the benefits of our prosperity and abundance, or our technological advances”.”
