There are many ways to interpret the phrase: all that glitters is not gold. We can apply it in scenarios that may seem wrong to some and right to others. The fact remains that no matter how you interpret the phrase, one thing remains; All that glitters is not always gold. The most accepted or popular meaning of the phrase is quite interesting. Not everything that seems precious turns out to be close to being so. This can apply to anything you can think of. There are many things in this world that appear to be something they are not. This could be used for almost anything, and here's a good example. The greenest grass is not always the healthiest. You have to look beyond the surface to determine whether the grass is healthy or not. You can't simply label grass as healthy just by judging its appearance. To me these phrases are just metaphors for something bigger. I'm not trying to explain how the grass can be greener, but not healthier. Nor am I trying to demonstrate how things can sparkle or shine, but not be golden. The definition of a beautiful person is very distorted. Most humans look at people they think are beautiful differently than they look at things that glitter. They fail to realize that just because they shine or shine on the outside doesn't make them golden. Just because they appear pleasing to our aesthetic senses does not mean they are beautiful. Some people define a person as beautiful as someone who wears makeup and fills their face with color. Others believe that a beautiful person is one who dresses in cute and expensive clothes from the latest trends and designers. Some of us define a beautiful person as someone who is physically appealing to our eyes regardless of their style, wardrobe choices, or... medium... Being a beautiful person means having a big heart and having empathy for others. others. Not only do they feel bad for the less fortunate, but they do something to help them. Maybe they don't have time to volunteer at the soup kitchen; instead they give a piece of bread to the hungry when they only have one. They know that having empathy doesn't mean giving money to others. They know what it means to feel that person's pain and do something as simple as offer advice. A beautiful person does not take pride in helping others; they do it because it's the right thing to do. Being a beautiful person means much more than meets the eye. I reiterate this and will continue to do so until the point is made clear. All that glitters is not always gold and not all attractive people are beautiful people. It takes a beautiful person to see another beautiful person.
