Part A. In the story “A Gap Of Sky” we follow the young girl Ellie. Through the story we see Ellie's life. Her life mostly includes partying, like any other teenager. Includes alcohol and drugs. Attends university, lives in London. The thing that gets her out of the way is that she spends her nights in London's pubs and bars, instead of doing her homework for the next day at school. One day at 4pm, he woke up after a night out with alcohol. and drugs on a roof, he didn't even know where he was. He still had drugs in his blood, he was happy. When he came down from the roof, he remembered that he needed a printer because of a Virginia Wolf essay and some cigarettes. I feel like his life is just too much to handle. She got used to being surrounded by drunk or mostly stoned people. Ellie has trouble realizing that her drinking and drug problem is taking over and it's time to realize the consequences, she has trouble keeping up with her homework. The story is told in the third person and is written in stream of consciousness. Which helps give the impression that Ellie may be under the influence of a drug. Throughout the story Ellie has difficulty maintaining concentration; even though she realizes that there will be serious consequences if she doesn't hand in her assignment, she doesn't maintain concentration, gets distracted very easily and decides to go to a museum because she's never been there before. The writing method is very well considered because it indicates that Ellie is a young teenager and some words are typically used by young teenagers, and typical girls use more emotional words. One of the central points... in the middle of the paper ...is simply drinking alcohol and taking drugs to escape the real world with the real facts. Another way is that the gap could be a kind of opening of a new life, to get back on your feet again. Many people move to the city and get an apartment, and live a social life with a light that never goes out , but the reason she is in the city is that the big city is like a castle that protects you, and in her case it might because of expectations from other people. And this is one of the most important things about this text, which is a reflection of insecurity. Finally I want to end with a poem about city life in London. I think it reflects a lot of things that London has, and that's why I chose that poem. By William Cheesman.London.Myself and I in this lively cityThe only place I can be truly happyA city of many sides, quiet or busyA city of many atmospheres, lively or moody.
