At any time and in any weather condition, bodies of water crash effortlessly onto the shore. These are known as waves: the waves that people gently surf on, the waves that bring in excess algae, and the waves that create unique movement in the ocean for people on Earth to observe. However, the meaning of waves is not limited to its literal definition. Waves are the continuous flow of positive and negative attributes. Cycles of positive and negative attributes can be found in nature. In nature, waves can bring happiness or shame to people walking along breathtaking coastlines. Beaches, one of the most admired geographic features on the planet, are formed by the movement of waves. According to the National Geographic Society, “Over the years, water and wind wear away the land. The continuous action of waves crashing against a rocky cliff, for example, can cause some rocks to detach." Removing previous cliffs and people often say “just go with the flow,” directly implying that a person acts on impulse. However, going with the flow involves more than acting on instinct. Going with the flow is when you trust yourself enough to accept your emotions and move forward. In nature, going with the flow means allowing Mother Nature to change the various environments on Earth. Both of these ways of going with the flow don't focus on what might happen as a result. This is what makes a life, a wave, meaningful. Waves advance regardless of obstacles they may encounter. Whether in a job or a relationship, repeated positive experiences and negative experiences create what is known as life. Literal positive and negative experiences can be defined as ups and downs, but the figurative definition of such experiences is a wave.
