All men and women are praised equally and for the same purpose, and are fairly rewarded for the same work. In this utopia where problems such as disease, terrorism, war, dissatisfaction with life and monogamy are solved, the glass ceiling is another; has been officially broken. There is also the same representation of genders in the media. For example, when Lenina and John are at the Feelies, they both enjoy the sexual feelings caused by both characters. Today the porn industry shows its content to the majority of viewers, who are men. Both John and Lenina were given the right to enjoy the sexual content in front of them, because one gender was not being exploited. If the Feelies were strictly aimed at a male audience, this could diminish a woman's self-esteem or sexual desire to a point that no amount of soma in the world could fix. On the other hand, since men are so satisfied and happy with the testosterone boost that comes with living in a patriarchal society, this could lead to an ego boost in the workplace and misogynistic thinking towards female colleagues . Does this sound familiar? Equality among minorities and women is only a tiny piece of the great working machine that is the New World. Their world is immoral and questionable in many ways, but their principles for equal representation and rights across genders and races of all types are something the United States could take a leaf from as it tries to break through the ubiquitous Glass
