“Sometimes, technology is truly used for evil… as in the enhanced versions of the toys that were in the top places two decades ago” (D'Onfro). These board games, dolls and simple activities that only a generation ago enjoyed beyond measure, have tried to make a comeback by digitizing and adding technological elements because children today no longer use the imagination that once made a doll more realistic. Kids just want toys that fly themselves and sing, even though that's not the point. But how can you blame Hasbro and Mattel when they have to compete with Apple and Hewlett-Packard? Not that any of these companies make Barbie or Monopoly, but competitors in the doll and toy industries were getting in on the tech push, so they had to, too. Everyone knows that games will never be the same again, for example playing Uno on a phone will never compare to playing with a family around the table screaming and laughing, begging an opponent to have mercy and not bet four; however, there is not enough time in the day for this. So if anyone is looking for something fun and entertaining to do, take out their phone or laptop and play a quick game online with someone around.
