I think communicating in many different languages in one country is not only expensive, why would you have to hire and pay an interpreter to communicate what you are trying to say to another person or group of people. Another reason I believe they decided to only adopt the English spoken in America is because the language barrier is a difficult way to translate words, sentences, and statements. For example, someone might say something in English and try to translate it into another language like Mandarin, but they can't translate the English sentence because they might not have a word for it in Mandarin. When I communicate in English I can say something in a slang term like a funny joke to a friend and he is able to understand what I am saying, because he understands the context in which I am communicating it. Second (Should English be the official language of the United States?) “One language will bring everyone together as one. America is a country filled with many people from all over the world. It will be much easier to have just ONE language. It's so confusing and annoying to have to press 1 or 2 for English or Spanish when trying to speak to a customer representative. There should only be one option which is English. This way everyone can understand each other
