When I started working at the agency I didn't understand why I worked there because ultimately I wanted to work with children. But instead of continuing with that way of thinking I opened my mind and heart to this experience and it honestly changed me. Through my knowledge of the course I learned about different types of families. Also about the different types of belief systems that each family can have. Each person in each family plays a unique role in the family, some large or some small, but they play a role. Through my courses I have learned that it is up to us to help those in need. Even though I thought working with kids had nothing to do with it, but it has everything to do with families and family systems. Although I wasn't homeless, I lived in a house without lights for an entire semester of school. Sometimes I didn't have the fanciest new gear and name brand clothes, and I was bullied for a period of my life. So, even in my lifetime, the story may not have been as bad as some families', but I could relate because I know what it's like to live without it. Plus I know this as a kid because all you know is that other kids have it and you don't. I just know that although your problems are difficult, they will defiantly get better. Through my life experiences I have learned to push and never give up on your dreams. The most important thing I learned was to believe in those who sacrifice for you and never stop believing that one day everything will get better because it really will. I feel that my knowledge and experiences will help the agency become more recognizable. I want them to understand that we have all experienced difficult times and have sometimes needed assistance to get out of them. Some situations may have been extreme and without the help of others some situations we would still be in. I believe that the new staff they are hiring will allow for new experiences and a new understanding for customers to occur. This has been a great experience and with an open heart and mind I believe they can accomplish what they set out to do. It all comes with hard work and
