Depending on the words an author uses can determine how you feel when you read it. It can make you feel what the character is going through. It can be happiness or despair. The author is an artist and your brain is his blank canvas. They can illustrate their story with the use of pictures. But, as every artist has his own special touch, writers have it too. No two writers can write the same story. They each add their own special touch to make it their own. This causes the stories to have comparisons and contrasts. In the collection of "Daily", "There is no word for goodbye", "Hope" and "The day of the storm" there are many comparisons and contrasts on how the author uses images. One of the contrasts between Mary Tall Mountain's “There's No Word for Goodbye” and Naomi Shihab Nye's “Daily” is the authors' use of wizened, crumpled images. In "There's No Word to Say Goodbye" on page 678 Tall Mountain says, "I said looking through the wrinkle net." The author uses these images to show the end of life.
