In today's society it is increasingly common to have families that do not adapt to the specific model of life that requires marriage between a man and a woman, the birth of children and the preparation of the latter to leave the home world when they come of age. For families who do not fit into these configurations, this framework may not be helpful and may instead make families feel invalid or inherently wrong. Finally, this framework does not take into account the lengthening of lifespan and the importance of education and career building. The life course of Baby Boomers or Gen The feminist framework has gained strength and relevance in recent decades as gender roles are questioned. The main ideas of the Feminist Framework are that women are oppressed, exploited (for free/cheap labour) and seen as inferior to men. Feminism has gained momentum as women educate themselves about the institutions that reinforce sexism and the effect it has on them. Women are increasingly forced to work to supplement their income and do not fit into the traditional role of housewife. Therefore, a framework dedicated to the advancement and empowerment of women is needed
