Good and Bad Plastic SurgeryThere are so many good and bad things that can come from plastic surgery. This essay will tell you all the effects, good and bad, that come with plastic surgery. The main reasons why people undergo plastic surgery are medical, personal, and sometimes for career enhancement. While we should all be happy with the way we look, we're not, so one way to fix it is plastic surgery. Some people choose this method sometimes as a doctor's recommendation method. Another way is for personal use and just to feel better about them. The ultimate effect of plastic surgery is to somehow advance you in your chosen career path. There are so many reasons why people choose this, but this essay will focus on so many accidents that happen daily, some of which we cannot control, hence the word accident. But these accidents can leave people with damage to parts of the body that almost never heal. But cosmetic surgery offers these people a new look at life. Cosmetic surgery can sometimes be seen in a negative light, but in a world with so much negativity this procedure can sometimes save people's lives and give them hope to give them the opportunity to continue their lives. In one article a young girl had a terrible accident where she was hit with a metal baseball bat only to have her face reconstructed. Dr. Posnick and his team of amazing surgeons put my face back together with surgery, a titanium plate, and three titanium screws. It saved more than my face, it saved my life. Many times these accidents are caused by more than just the car, or simply being in the wrong place at the wrong time, although these accidents can cause many deaths, sometimes lives are spared but not with a small injury which can almost be be repaired. But if we were, in 2007 alone Americans spent $13 billion on 11.7 million cosmetic procedures. This is a fact that, to me, is surprising. In a world of debt and job losses, this industry has flourished without even a hint of slowing down, and for some this has become an addiction. Many major television networks have covered the dramatic growth and addiction to the procedure, with programs such as "MTV's Real Life I'm Having Unusual Plastic Surgery" or "Real Life I Hate My Plastic Surgery" as well such as “tacky” and “My Weird Addiction”. Now shows show different specters of this billion-dollar industry. For example, in one episode of My Weird Addiction, the drug addict went through 125 different procedures to look like the Ken doll which cost him up to nearly $160,000. This botched show centers on procedures that went wrong one case the show features a woman named Alicia who underwent a breast augmentation that went completely wrong from the location of the implants to location under the skin where they were inserted
