The novel The Count of Monte Cristo, written by Alexander Dumas, is a story with a plot full of madness and revenge. This story set in the Napoleonic era shows us how a very naive character, Edmond Dantes, is betrayed by his "friends". He is put in prison where he will live the rest of his life.
