Love, lust, passion and desire, all these elements combined can cause a great explosion. Romanticism began in England around the year 1798. English poets began writing about nature, imagination, and idealism. Most poets wrote considering the changes that occurred in England during the revolutionary era. During that time writers chafed at the changes and created imaginary things to write about; their aim was to try to capture the reader's mind. Thanks to these poets people became well aware of the nature around them. Although the country was in poverty, people in that period received strength from poetry. This made the poets more inspired and distracted from their pain. “Making poetry is much older than writing. Although its origins have been lost to history and can never be known with certainty, the widely accepted theory is that poetry arose in early agricultural societies, where it was spoken or sung as an incantation to promote good harvests. It was certainly part of religious rites and ceremonies in ancient Greece and Rome, and was the vehicle used to pass on the stories of the people's struggles and triumphs. (History of poetry). Thinking late at night can really lead a person into deep thoughts. Romanticism had a similar effect on people, when irritated and confused by the world and its habitat, the mannerism of poetry transported the people of the time to escape to a land of metaphors. Many doctors and lay people recommend writing in diaries and journals as a form of treatment for the brain. Writing in a journal helps relieve your mind of unnecessary thoughts that float in and out of your mind. These thoughts can consist of depression, stress, sadness at times and... middle of paper... more of the same." (The Road Not Taken). Usually, people tend to follow what is common, the easy way out or the route that many people seemed to have gone in that direction, yet the speaker takes the other route with leaves on the ground as if no one had set foot in that direction and he is the first to do so. that's why it made a difference in his life. "I'll tell it with a sigh somewhere centuries from now: two roads diverged in a forest, and I... I took the one less traveled by, and that made the difference. " (The Road Not Taken). However life is a book of poems, our emotions are the words and we are the writers, the more we live the deeper the feelings. Romanticism has had a great impact on the lives of many people giving them hope for a better tomorrow, whether it is a small problem or those who are worried about their future.
