Who would want their children to start drinking at a young age? Alcohol advertising should be banned on television for adolescent health reasons. Experts have evidence that teenagers who watch more alcohol-containing television tend to drink at a younger age and become alcoholics as they get older. Alcohol advertising will cause teenagers damage to their entire body. For example, alcohol can damage the brain by interfering with the brain's communication pathways. Drinking alcohol can cause a person to act differently than they normally would. In my personal experience I have a family that drinks and becomes violent and others pass out or become vulnerable. These reactions are dangerous for consumers and those around them. Therefore, advertising alcohol on television or any type of media will hurt and scare their loved ones. Additionally, underage youth see more alcohol advertisements than adults combined. Finally, the purchase of alcohol by underage drinkers from 1993 to 1999. Over the years, alcohol advertisements have increased alcohol consumption among adolescents, which causes underage youth to be more likely to harm themselves and others. They can also harm their body if they continue to drink more and more. Advertising is not something easy and cheap to do; it takes time and money. The money used to promote these advertisements seen on television, on billboards and in stores is paid for and authorized by the government.
