From my point of view I think Dylan was the more depressed between him and Eric, or maybe Dylan was just depressed. Possible reasons Dylan was depressed were that he didn't think he was good-looking, he hated his height, and he was also a victim of bullying. People who are bullied usually tend to feel alone, insecure and hopeless. There are many moods that result from depression, one being low self-esteem. Low self-esteem leaves people in a state where they believe they can't do anything meaningful in life. Low self-esteem makes people slow and makes them feel like they have no purpose in the world.
