The War of the Worlds is a novel by HG Wells published in 1898. It is set where it was written, in England. The idea that Martians inhabit the Earth and try to take control of it is fantastic. It contains an extensive, descriptive plot, a realistic and richly developed character, and an exciting style that goes into surprising detail but doesn't become overly boring. First, in War of the Worlds, I felt an underlying sense of imperialism as the Martians. reigned for a certain period over the country.
