The world of hip-hop would invite you to believe that rap music provides a poetic way to communicate one's life experiences through music. In a way this might be true, but what do you hear that sounds very poetic to you? Every day, people all over the world listen to music. Music has become an important part in today's society. From the moment we are in our mother's womb, music begins to play an important role in our development. Like a sponge, children are influenced by everything around them, including the music they listen to. For a long time, some children's TV has used the combination of words, music and fast-paced activities to achieve learning. Reading an article, I discovered that more than half of every rap song consists of sexual objectification. “Sexual objectification was found to occur in 67% of the misogynistic lyrics in their songs” (Cundiff 73). Not only are women seen as sexual objects, but they are also seen as someone who cannot be trusted. In some rap lyrics, artists talk about how their girlfriend cheated on them multiple times. For this reason women are frowned upon. But, for some reason, when rappers are pimps and have multiple "hoes" with them, it's okay. In my opinion, rappers should consider the impact and influence they have on their fans. As more and more teenagers are exposed to negative texts, women
