In bold and centered words, their slogan was “The Perfect Body.” The fact that the company believes and represents that the only perfect body is size 0 is appalling. This advertisement created a huge controversy and was trending on Twitter, a social networking service. It sparked conversation when UK residents Frances Black, Gabriella Kountourides and Laura Ferris called for a petition against the advert run by Victoria Secret. These women not only believe how barbaric the message appeared, but they also wanted the company to stop sending harmful messages in the future. They believed that the message would make women around the world feel more insecure about their bodies and that the company should focus more on making women feel happy and beautiful.
