Detailed how SMEs offer high rates of employment opportunities, especially when compared to larger companies in the economy. With all the statistics analyzed, it has been noted that SMEs provide approximately two-thirds of all job opportunities available in the economy. SMEs, as outlined, are also key in providing skills to the labor pool. They train and offer other important skills to prepare people to work in small, medium and large businesses. The 2008 financial crisis dealt a severe blow to SMEs especially with regards to their growth and expansion, but in today's economy they have bounced back and are expected to continue to play their vital role of providing employment opportunities. While researching this article I was very surprised by how SMEs impact the economy. I always thought that it was only large companies and corporations that contributed to economic growth, or decline. I work for a small business and this information has made me appreciate much more the contribution we make to the economy. It's definitely a very complex topic, but it's worth it considering the amount of information I have
