If you have tried contemplation or yoga, you may have practiced something similar, as these can induce mild hypnosis. Hypnotherapy is the process of bringing you into this relaxed state and combining it with therapy to help you let go of negative feelings and emotions and exchange them for encouraging ones. There are two types of hypnotherapy: interactive, in which the client and the therapist maintain an ongoing dialogue; and direct suggestion, in which the therapist works according to a script used for a particular goal such as weight loss or quitting smoking. Interactive hypnotherapy tends to occur more quickly and dramatically
