Topic > Motivation at work: Florence Nightengale and Ms....

There are many reasons that motivate people to work, such as happiness, interests and self-esteem. However, it is important that work can influence people to maintain their ambitions to achieve their goals, satisfy their basic needs and focus on one thing with their passion. Florence Nightingale gave up her family's financial support as she had ambitions to improve England's medical and healthcare environment in the 19th century. And even during high school, “my job” offered me an adequate opportunity to achieve my goal. In Richard Rodriguez's “Workers,” undocumented physical labor from Mexico works in the United States to earn money for their basic needs. Furthermore, in Carl Rowan's short story, “The Unforgettable Miss Bessie,” Miss Bessie, a knowledgeable high school teacher, uses her passion to educate African Americans. In my opinion and these three people, work is so important for everyone because people need ways to satisfy their ambitions, money for basic needs, and passion to do something. Individuals have their own goals in life. Their ambitions push them to make great efforts to achieve their senses of fulfillment. In this sense, jobs are important because they can provide many ways for ambitious people to achieve their goals. Florence Nightingale was the founder of modern nursing. When he was young, he had ambitions to improve the medical environment in England. Because of her ambition, her heart told her that she had something to finish and she shouldn't give up. He decided to go abroad to do more research, give lectures, help wounded soldiers in the Crimean War and participate in some discussions to solve this problem. Nightingale worked for many years but her environment... middle of paper... her black students and community. In fact, he could use his knowledge to choose other easy jobs instead of the teacher. However, if Miss Bessie did not work as a teacher with her passion, she would not be able to do much to encourage her students and impact the African American community. People work for three main reasons: ambition, basic needs and passion. Without work, individuals cannot achieve their goals when they are ambitious, or solve the problems of their basic needs, or have as much passion for educating people and helping society progress. Florence Nightingale, undocumented workers, Miss Bessie, and I all have experiences to realize, understand, and demonstrate the importance of work. In a word, people need jobs because they are vital to individuals, regardless of problems, dreams and enthusiasm.
