Surrounded TechnologicallyTechnology has progressively become a huge part of our daily lives. Between the Internet, television, and the countless portable devices available, technology has actually altered our perception of people, time, and space. Society has become increasingly dependent on technological advancements and creations. Numerous aspects of our daily lives, such as communication, business and education, are constantly changing due to rapid advances in technology. This rapid change could be potentially harmful to adolescents and society as a whole. As a result of the increasing use of technology over the years, society has become lazy, dependent, and unable to think effectively without the aid of a technological device. In many ways, modern technology has had the effect of making us work harder to stay in the same place. Technology is rapidly integrating into school systems around the world. While many believe this will have a positive effect on the student's education, it will most likely create a technological dependency that the student will maintain throughout their educational career. Children who are taught to use computers and modern technology at such a young age will eventually end up lacking basic skills such as writing and social skills (Corkern). Children and teenagers have become accustomed to using slang when texting or exchanging emails. The use of slang continues into school work and everyday writing, diminishing the use of correct grammar. The increasing use of technology in schools also has a negative impact on the development of social skills. Children cannot acquire the necessary social skills through a computer. Proper greetings and eye contact...... middle of paper ...... and paper completely disintegrates from schools and businesses and is replaced by laptops and tablets.
