Gribble blames himself and regrets not being able to save his mother. Milo tries to convince Gribble that they still have a chance to save Milo's mother just as Ki finds them. The three discover a cave painting showing a Martian family that is just like the human family on Earth. Ki makes it clear that Martian children were not always raised by robot nannies. Currently, baby Martian girls are raised by robot nannies in the technologically advanced all-female society, while male babies are sent down to be raised by adult male Martians, the furry creatures Milo encountered.
