Not only this, but at least “forty-six to about fifty-eight million square miles of forest are lost every year; this equates to 36 football pitches per minute (WWF).” This is commonly known as habitat loss when animals' homes have been destroyed due to renovation for the greater good of humans. Unfortunately, people do not check the trees and remove the animals before deciding to cut down and tear the trees from the floor. Animals are not only killed in attempts to construct new buildings, but are also forced to look for a new place to find a home. Animals that managed to escape the terror of the bulldozer will find a new habitat, some may appear on some people's lawns, or the third option where they die from not finding a home or have become road victims. Don't just destroy trees and plants without a thorough investigation to make sure all trees have been registered. This is important because “scientists have cataloged fewer than 15% of the plant species now alive – and current extinction rates mean that many unknown plants will disappear before they can be recorded (National Geographic).” Since the human population gets all its vaccines, vitamins, and disease cures all come from plants, it's hard to accept having a Wal-Mart in this place.
