Is it surprising where society would be without the discovery of the Internet? Unless you've ever watched TV, listened to the radio, or read a book, you've almost certainly heard of the Internet. Today, very few, if any, have not used the Internet in some aspect of their lives. It's almost impossible not to have used it. The Internet is installed in everything from phones to cars. If someone said they hadn't used it, they would remain isolated from society. The mass of information that the Internet makes available is astonishing. People no longer have to look for books to educate themselves. With the amount of information and easy accessibility of the Internet, books are becoming a thing of the past. There are many benefits from the Internet, speed and accessibility being the main ones. Along with the advantages there are always disadvantages and the Internet has its fair share. The problem with the Internet replacing book research is the credibility of the research and the limitations to learning. Although conducting research on the Internet is more efficient, Internet research often lacks credibility and limits readers' learning. We live in the information age, where we have access to many wonderful places to search on the Internet. For this reason, people tend to move away from using book research. Some would argue that the Internet is a tool to be used in addition to traditional research, such as book research. It is surprising that people do not use books for research, because the credibility of Internet research is often absent. In most cases, books are actually more reliable than Internet sources, but books have been revised many times before publication. So the problem is that, unlike searching on the Internet, information about books takes longer... half the paper... finding a book on your own in a library far exceeds the time spent researching topics on the Internet . The fact of the matter is that through modern devices such as smartphones and other smart devices, people are moving away from using books in research. With people's drastic inclination to use the Internet to search for books, libraries are becoming a thing of the past. Internet cafes are the modern version of a library.
