Then we look at the training directory or internal training to set goals and objectives. We set a time frame to allow time for the actions or training to be delivered and impacted in the environment or on the individual. We then meet again to evaluate performance and try to set new actions or goals. All the staff agreed and worked towards the same goal to raise the scores, as far as our training is concerned. I think it is crucial to explain to staff the importance of the goal and give them the opportunity to find ways to achieve it using their own creativity, experience and skills. Using a performance management cycle you can provide a structure and process for how staff are managed to identify any training or development needs. The aim is to produce and deliver a high level of service to ensure that all opportunities for improvement are identified and achieved. Professional supervision supports staff in achieving our aims and objectives, to achieve good practice and performance, providing support in areas we may find difficult to achieve. It will give us a better understanding of our responsibilities within our work role and help us reflect on our working practices.
