We have established that our technological dependence is neither chronic nor deadly, and that to reach the full potential of technology we must improve ourselves as a society. If everyone woke up one day and all computer technology disappeared overnight, humanity would survive. Our worlds would simply be dimmer. Global communication wouldn't be as easy, our bags would get heavier with all the extra stuff we'd need to get through our days, and we'd have to go back to having accommodations for pay phones. However we would adapt. Citing computers as the root of evil and our dependence on computers as “what is wrong with today's society” is a gross oversimplification. Our survival does not depend on computers, any more than it depends on airplanes and cakes. Computers are not our detriment, they are our advantage, but we do not survive thanks to the power of computers
