Topic > Compare and contrast when watching a film at home

When you watch a film in the cinema you have the best picture, sound and lighting available and this in return makes people want to choose one over the other. Although home theater is becoming a trend in today's households, it is not comparable to watching a movie in the theater if you are passionate about the picture, sound and image quality of a movie. Cinemas are known for these features and continually invest in them with upgrades. Conversely, the sound quality may be too bright and the cinema lighting may be too dim and therefore annoying. Additionally, at the theater you don't have as much personal control over the volume, fast-forwarding previews, rewinding, or even pausing the movie as you would at home. Alternatively, your home theater setup may be more tolerable for your personal experience, considering you have the ability to fast forward, rewind, pause, and adjust both volume and lighting. Another form of quality that is experienced within a cinema is social quality. A quality social practice available at the Cineplex cinema is the Stars and Strollers program. A child-friendly environment that includes low volume, low lighting, changing tables and stroller parking gives new parents the chance to go check out a new release and still provide the care their baby needs.
