Topic > Evolution of Human Intelligence: A Historical Perspective

No one can be considered inferior or foolish. The world has gone through critical periods where people were unable to go to school. We all know that the fundamental way to develop one's intelligence is to go to school and improve one's intellectual abilities. School is the best institution that promotes learning. There, people can interact and exchange their ideas, which helps them know how to live with others in society. There we develop our initial intelligence, the one with which we are born, and which we must develop until death. Being directly related to our parents, by inheritance and more influenced by the environment in which we grew up, intelligence is more likely to differ depending on circumstances. However, our abilities are not affected. Since IQ scores are universally assessed, the basis of such results is the same for everyone, whatever their origin. As a matter of fact, we don't all focus our intelligence in one universal domain, but we all apply it in different domains. Some people may be smart at catching fish while others are smart at doing math. It's about the importance placed on our needs. The expert fish catcher might live in a place where fishing is the only way to survive starvation, while the mathematician might live in a place where doing mathematics is very important for getting a job
