Articles have been written about the morality depicted in plays and novels, but this was the first time I read an academic article on the ethical issues within a film, especially through the eyes of two serial killers. In most cases, when characters are analyzed, the good ones are considered morally positive and the bad ones are considered morally negative. Wills and Wilson never had negative connotations towards John Doe and Jigsaw, but explained both positive and negative ethical decisions about both killers. The aim of strictly talking about the morals of the characters in an impartial way giving the idea that morality is not black and white unlike many others
