Armando Martinez4/19/2014The Golden Age consisted of many new technological advancements such as the railroad. The golden age is a time when technology started to increase and many more jobs opened up. Furthermore, because there were more jobs, American wages were even higher than European ones, which caused many immigrants to migrate to the United States. However, the Gilded Age was also an era of poverty as very poor European immigrants arrived to find work, but the high wages were for skilled American workers. Railways were the main industry, but the industrial system, mining and trade unions also gained importance. But these improvements occurred only in the East and West, so the South was left economically devastated; its economy became increasingly linked to the production of cotton and tobacco. But the golden age did not just consist of new technological advances, it also consisted of the construction of schools, universities and hospitals by state and local governments, and private ones were also founded, often with the support of local authorities. philanthropists. Another major advancement was the creation of the telephone. Many of these new inventions shape our future, for example the telephone helped us communicate with other people from all over the world. For example, for us right now we cannot live without phones, our lives would be nothing without the phone. Another great advance was the railway, which allowed us to travel much easier and faster, and also allowed us to trade much more easily. Nowadays most things are transported by train, plane, ship. But in the past they had to transport things with horses and carts, this is what motivated them to create the railway which made every day much easier. There were many people who help make this time period more… middle of paper. .....I can't even have a nice family dinner because everyone is on the phone. Now, when you're in public, you see all the phones texting. And this is because in this era he created a new technology to call people which later made people not want to talk just to send simple messages. This era made us what we are now, kids when they had 6 phones when others were 6 and had a rock to play with, not this new technology. But that's what people like to do, they like to keep moving forward, they like to invent things that will make their life easier. And all this continuing to go on started during the Golden Age, when people wanted to start inventing and making money. So this era is well known for their creations. I love this era because they created new things that made life so much easier, it gave us phones, kweeyboards and even old ones, it gave us new things to rely on.
