How do you think as a Christian? I believe this is the main question this book answers. The author states that there is a great divide when it comes to how we approach the act of thinking itself. He claims that Christianity is becoming secularized and degenerating into a pathetic version of itself or, more significantly, Christianity is being actively colonized and replaced by a different religious faith. He defines "thinking Christianly" as "thinking by Christians about anything in a consistent Christian way; in a way that is shaped, directed, and restrained by the truth of the Word of God and the Spirit of God." It says that either there is something outside of us that we must take into account or there isn't. The Christian mind is a mind that operates under the belief that there is something outside of ourselves that we must take into account. “Thinking in light of God's existence and his self-revelation is what it means to have a Christian mind.”White, J.E. (2006). A Mind for God. In my life I believe that thinking like a Christian means trying to see the world, and the people in it, the way God sees us. The book describes it as seeing the world in the light of faith. As difficult as it may seem at times, I try to see the world as a broken people. Before I get out of the car in the morning when I go to work, I pray to the Lord that He would help me react to every single situation, be it good or bad, the way He would react, I also pray that He would use me and that people would see that light that shines inside me. I think having a Christian mind is where we decide that we will be loyal to God and His ways, and that others can see that in our actions. Our relationship with God is… at the heart of paper readers and the interaction others have had with the books we read. In the book of Proverbs, the Bible speaks of our interaction with others as an iron sharpening iron, one person sharpening another (Proverbs 27:17). White, J. E. (2006). A Mind for God. In chapter five White talks about reflection, he describes it as thinking about something to a degree that brings some kind of realization: an aha moment. Taking an idea and living with it until it is burned to the core. Christian reflection takes what is read, taught, suggested and announced and brings it to light with a biblical worldview. This is thinking Christianly. White, J. E. (2006). A Mind for God. Downers GroveReferencesWhite, J.E. (2006). A Mind for God. Downers Grove, Illinois: IVP Books.Works CitedWhite, J.E. (2006).
