From my LSI survey results my main thinking style is "The Constructive Style" which includes humanistic and affiliative thinking styles. According to the survey, this thinking style allows me to make decisions that allow me to improve myself and build healthy relationships with the people around me. Another definition I have come across that also explains this style of thinking a little more in depth explains; “Constructive thinking is basically a way of thinking constructively about your world and your environment. So instead of reacting to these events, choose to interpret them and then respond to them in ways that support your growth and development and minimize friction with the external environment.” (Constructive Thinking, 2014). I agree with this thinking style that suits my personality because when I make decisions, I always take into consideration how it will affect the people around me. I also make sure to always help those around me improve through encouragement and other types of motivation. I apply it in both my personal and professional life. Another aspect of this thinking style has to do with building personal relationships in a positive way. I have always found myself to be the go-to person for most people, especially at work, because they will get the help they need from me and I never shy away from challenges, which is why people trust me enough me to guide and help improve decisions for the team. I consider myself a born leader and a sociable person, as I tend to get along with people in all contexts because I can adapt to any type of environment regardless of the situation and I have the feeling of completing any task assigned to me. given efficiently. I am...... half way...... changes in my thinking right now, maybe in the future once I feel more comfortable in my own skin and surroundings then I can make the necessary adjustments on passive/defensive styles. The constructive styles I can use to my advantage especially in my professional life because they bring positive traits that can add to my road to success. With this course and the things it is bringing to light to be a successful manager/leader, I can use the thinking styles to connect to theories to be successful as a leader and add to my existing leadership skills.
