Just goes to show that obedience is ingrained in all of us by the way we were raised. We are trained to listen to our elders in family situations or individuals with authority in school and work situations (McLeod). By looking at Milgram's experiment we can see how certain elements play a role in making our decisions. Like when the Master asked the experimenter who would take responsibility for shocking the student. The Teacher was more willing to continue the experiment when the experimenter wore a lab coat rather than civilian clothes. From the experimenter wearing the lab coat, the teacher saw him as a superior individual, making him more likely to comply. While the experimenter wearing civilian clothes made the teacher uncomfortable obeying his command to continue shocking
