Do you think we should legalize drugs? Do you agree that we are spending too much money on drug control? Would our children be safe if there was no longer drug control? Drug control has been a social pathology problem that overwhelms the safety of all Americans. Debates on the legalization of drugs have taken place, starting with the question of the medical use of the substances, creating a strong controversy. According to a poll conducted by ABC News in May 1997, 69% of Americans support drug legalization (Review Of The National Drug Control Strategy, 1996). There are also people who argue that the establishment of anti-drug laws, but also their enforcement, is creating a deficit in our economy; others believe that there would be a profit if drugs were legalized, due to the implementation of taxes on them; However, it's not just about money; it's about public safety. Strong evidence has shown that drug use and abuse is seriously harming our community; According to a National Survey on Drug Use and Health in 2002 and 2003, last year, about 2.5 percent of Americans ages 12 and older used cocaine, and another 0.75 percent abused or had an addiction to cocaine (Recoveryhub, 2004). Even if there are social and political issues on this controversial topic, we will also take responsibility. Because each generation has its own conflicts and beliefs, the government should review and create anti-drug laws and oversee various federal drug law enforcement agencies. that do not violate the rights of individuals, nor leave criminals without punishment. The United States, in an effort to stop drug control, created federal anti-narcotic laws, such as the Harrison Act of 1914 and its numerous amendments..... .center of document……ww.ice.gov/about/overview / FBI, T.
