College meals are a way to provide students with nutritious ways to eat. Unlike high school, in college there are various options and ways of eating that should be sufficient and convenient. Howard University is considered one of the best schools in the country. However, even if it is one of the best, one of its many flaws is the catering. There are some issues with dining on campus. First of all, the cafeteria hours are not compatible with the lesson times of most students. Then there are the meal plans. Meal plans must be used at the two campus dining locations, Blackburn and Annex. Each meal plan also offers lunch dollars that can be used at an on-campus dining location called Punchout. While this can be a good thing, there aren't many options in meal plans and there are a limited number of dining dollars that come with most meal plans. Last but not least is Punchout. Punchout is a food court where students can use the money they earn from dining to purchase food when they're in a hurry. Although it is convenient, Punchout is only open during the week, and since students are allocated a limited amount of dinner dollars, most students cannot eat there for an entire semester until dinner dollars are available of the new semester. few solutions that can be offered for these problems. The first would be to lengthen or adapt bar opening hours. Meal plans can also be tailored to student needs. Additionally, Punchout can be open on weekends and more catering dollars can be added. The latest and most convenient would be to allow dining dollars to be accepted at off-campus dining locations.
